A small group
of straight pool players met at Guys & Dolls in Belleville,
NJ to contest the final quarterly straight pool pro-am tournament
for 2009. Dennis Quinn, playing at skill level 5, won this
event by defeating Mark Moore, a skill level 4 player, in
an extended final match by the score of 95 to 115. Mark needed
120 points to win.
High Run of the tournament was performed by Eddie Culhane
with a run of 27 balls, made during his first round match
against Ted Williams. Other notable high runs for the day
included 25 balls and 21 balls by Mark Moore, 21 balls by
Blain Howard, and 20 balls by both Dennis Quinn and Scott
Abramowitz.
Also, a $400 dollar McDermott pool cue was won by Bill Meima
in the events final raffle drawing of the year.
