CARMEN LOMBARDO WINS SECOND QUARTER EVENT

On May 10, 2008, SDA Productions, ran its 2nd quarterly straight pool tournament for the year. A small but talented group of players participated in the event that was held on Mother's Day weekend. The tournament, to be held four times a year, is open to all skill levels of straight pool players. The next tournament is scheduled for September 13 and 14, 2008 and again will be held at Comet Billiards, located in Parsippany, NJ. This tournament, which started at 11:30 am, ran just over six hours, not counting the final double elimination round between hot seated Carmen Lombardo and Joey Kong with both agreeing not to play out the final round match and split the prize money. Officially, Carmen Lombardo won the tournament and also held on to Tournament High run of 43 balls. Both Carmen and Joey play at skill level 3, which requires their match to go to 110 points. Gerard Seriano, who plays at skill level 4 and is required to play to 90 points, won third place. The tournament was evenly represented with two players from each skill level between levels 6 to 3. Generally speaking, Skill Levels of all players range from 6 to 1 with 6 being the lowest and for players who typically run not more then 14 balls, up to those who typically run over 100 balls. Matches for Skill level 6 players are required to go to 50 points while matches for Skill Level 1 players are required to go to 150 points. There is a 20 difference between each Skill Level.
